Ask a traveller who is already going
Somebody from your city flies home from Makkah, Madinah or Jeddah every week. Here is exactly what asking one of them to bring something costs, where the money sits while they do it, and what Wasil will not do for you.
What it costs you
Worked through with the same function that charges the card, so these are not marketing estimates. One order, line by line.
Charged once, when you accept a bid. There is no subscription, no listing fee and nothing to pay for posting a request nobody takes.
The cap is the price
You set the most you are willing to spend on the item and that is what you are charged. If the shop turns out to be cheaper, the traveller keeps the difference — they took the risk, fronted their own money and did the sourcing. So set a cap you are happy to pay rather than one you hope to beat.
Where your money sits
You pay Wasil, never the traveller. The charge lands on Wasil's Stripe balance the moment you accept a bid and it stays there while they buy, pack and fly. One honest word about that: it is an escrow-style hold on a platform balance, not a regulated escrow account with a licensed third party. The money genuinely does sit with Stripe rather than with your traveller.
It is released when you read your six-digit code to the traveller, in person, with the item in your hands. Nothing else releases it — not a delivery mark, not a message, not a photograph.
What Wasil does not do
We do not verify identity documents. Accounts are confirmed by email only. We do not supervise handovers, and we do not insure what is in the bag — if something is damaged in transit, Wasil cannot replace it.
What we do have is the money and a person. Nothing is paid out while a report is open on a deal, and a dispute freezes it entirely until somebody at Wasil has read it.
